I should start this off by saying that I am absolutely terrible at responding to anything on Deviantart. I've got nearly 15K messages piled up (from new art by people I watch, replies, messages, and whatnot) and for some reason I've just never prioritized to going through it and cleaning it out a bit. If I haven't responded to you, please don't take it personally. I've just been busy with life and getting other things done... I'm still interested in the art aspect of the MLP:FiM fandom, but not nearly as much as I used to be, and there's no way I could catch up on everything now.
Anyway, let's move on to what I've been up to lately.
I got burned out from ripping Pinkie's Parasprite Parade and I took a break from ripping BGM for a while. Around mid-December I started work on a massive project that I called "MLP:FiM Complete Music Analysis". I went through every single piece of music in the pilot episode of the show to analyze it and look for common musical themes. This involved *so* much work not just from going through the episode second-by-second, but also from going around the internet - MLP Wiki, Daniel Ingram's Facebook, etc. - to pull out tidbits and sources and gather information and take print screens. I worked on that analysis through all of January and it sits 99% completed on my hard drive.
Needless to say, I got burned out doing that after only going through the one episode; I ran it by both Daniel and Will Anderson with the intention of posting it up, but I never did as my proofreader/editor was way too busy to get to it. Here's a sample of the analysis, which I'll likely never post in full:
S01-E01-M43 — 16:41 - 17:21 (Length: 40 seconds)

Pinkie Pie pops up in front of Twilight and explains that she threw the surprise party for her, much to her dismay. Naturally for the hyper pink party pony, she gets in the purple unicorn's face and is extremely talkative, barely letting her get a word in. The music here is an arrangement of Pinkie's "Laughter Song" (heard later on in episode 2); you can practically hear "Pinkie, you gotta stand up tall" in the main melody.
Twilight makes her way over to the refreshment table in annoyance, trying to block out Pinkie, and she pours herself a drink.
S01-E01-M44 — 17:23 - 17:30 (Length: 7 seconds)

Twilight begins taking in her drink as Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity gather around Pinkie Pie as she finishes her spiel:
"...And now you have lots and lots of friends!"
At that moment, ukulele strums and snares roll along with theremin as Twilight turns to face the group, cheeks bulging red and tears streaming down her face, as steam comes out her ears and her mane and tail turn to flame; she zips out of the room on suspended electric guitar.

"Aww, she's so happy she's crying!"
M43 resumes playing as Twilight makes her way upstairs; we now discover that she had consumed pure hot sauce.
I'm probably a decent enough writer to do something like this if I really wanted to, but I have neither the time nor the energy to continue this project any further.
In late March, I did something a little different by "rescoring" a scene from Applebuck Season with music from the 1982 Conan the Barbarian. It's one of my all-time favorite soundtracks. Check it out:

After that, I decided to just go back to BGM ripping. Four months had passed since I did Pinkie's Parasprite Parade and I was feeling up to it again. Between then and now I've completed four more BGM rips:

Right now I'm preparing to go on vacation with my dad. A long car drive all the way down to California, then back up north to Vancouver and back home east. We've done this every July for the past decade, primarily for shopping and seeing family and friends, though this might be my last July holiday as I don't have a job nor am I taking school, and I really need to get a job when I return. I leave July 10th and return early August.
I *really* need this vacation...

My birthday is actually on the 17th of January, not the 1st... I have no idea why Deviantart is displaying the 1st as my birthday and I have no idea how to change it. I'm not very active on here anyway... sorry about that!
